Nancy O'Dell began her broadcast career as an anchor and reporter on WPDE-TV located in Myrtle Beach South Carolina. In later years, she was employed by WCBD as anchor for the morning show and as a crime reporter. O'Dell's stories in Charleston regarding the police's tolerance in DUI cases, prompted the State Law Enforcement Division to look into the matter. The result was the state government imposing more stringent guidelines in these cases. Ms. O'Dell won the Best Report of the Award from the Associated Press for South Carolina's media. O'Dell's work in Charleston was the reason she joined as a co-anchor, reporter and anchor for NBC's Miami WTVJ-TV. Before joining Access Hollywood she was a co-anchor on weekdays as well as NBC's weekend co-anchor. In addition to her current work as a lead anchor for Access Hollywood Ms. O'Dell is also an anchor for NBC News' Today and in addition for Dateline NBC. She has co-hosted a variety of pre-show arrivals for The Emmys as well as The Golden Globe Awards. She also hosted Miss USA's pageant as in addition to the Miss Universe Pageant.
